Everything is a Remix-Notes

• Remix- The arrangement and transformation of samples. Taking something original and editing it to make it into something new. 
• remix- turns to music    Examples: Sugar hill gang "Delight"   Father MC "Everything's Gonna be Alright"
• Don't even need skills for remixes and anybody can do it.
• light bulb: moment of insight
• How do we create?   Need:
• Domain Knowledge: learn language and then mimic people by copying (and making it your own)     Example: Richard Pier- introduced street stuff
• Transformation- Taking new stuff and creating variations    Example: Thomas Edison did not invent light bulb but improved it.
• Combinations: taking existing stuff and merging them together.   Example: printing press- paper, ink existed already combined as a machine and created printing press.
• Copy, Transformation, Combine: Basic components of any kind of creativity.
• Implications: copy and adapted hundreds of thousands of stuff were taking and copying from our community we don't notice or care, but when someone takes your original work then of course you notice and get mad. 
• Ideas are property- Can't steal ideas because you thought of them first.
• Ideas contain ideas
